Our History
Michael and I have an interesting history
)
I began working for IBM in January 2006. There I met a girl I knew I’d become great friends with, Amber Williams. I was married at the time but let’s be honest, I was unhappily married. Amber and I worked in an Admin Center at IBM and sat in cubicles right across from eachother.
One day I overheard her on the phone with someone talking about where they’d be going to lunch that day. Trudy’s…an Austin staple that is known for their 2 drink limit on Mexican Martini’s and GREAT food! When I heard Amber say she’d never been there I said “are you serious?” She admitted it and told me she was going to lunch with her dad and invited me to join. I quickly decided, while it sounded good, I wasn’t going to interupt a family lunch. After telling me that it wasn’t just her dad but a couple of girl friends too, I accepted the invite.
Once we arrived at Trudy’s I saw this exceedingly gorgeous man get out of his cop car and proceed to walk toward us in his bicep clenching SWAT uniform . I began to have a hot flash….”OH MY GOD HE’S HOT!! I wonder who he belongs to.” Not 2 seconds later Amber introduces him as her dad. I thought “YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS! This man doesn’t look old enough to be your dad!” But once I brought myself back down to earth (for a moment) I shook his hand after Amber introduced us. After being escorted to our 6-seater table for lunch (there was 5 of us), the four of them proceeded to sit at the four corners of the table leaving my options very slim…sit between Michael and Beth, or between Sylvia and Amber. I chose (obviously) to sit between the GORGEOUS SWAT cop (otherwise known as Michael…LOL) and Beth.
Not knowing their history previous to my choosing to sit there, I sat squarely in the “line-of-fire”. They had known eachother for a long time and had lots of joking jabs to throw. Being the newby of the group (and not knowing their relationship) I would shift my head backward as if their words were bullets flying by my head. It was quite comedic and provided great laughs for the lunch hour. Of course, being a married woman and the fact that he is my friends DAD, I saw that lunch hour as a fun time to fantasize about the lucious man in uniform and left it at that.
After several communications between Amber and her dad that afternoon it was confirmed that my lust for him wasn’t one sided…we apparently had a HUGE mutual attraction! After that we spent every available moment together!
January 27th 2007 Michael popped the question…and of course I said “YES!” That began a stressful year of planning and money spending…money we didn’t really have but decided we were going to do whatever it took to have the perfect day! In the middle of wedding planning added to our family, a Collie puppy we named Gabbie.
We knew we wanted a house ASAP but having her in an apartment was our violent shove into going for the house. In June 2007 we signed the contract to start building
) Exciting stuff!! November 16th 2007 we closed on our new home and moved in!
Then, on the second most wonderful day of my life (the first being the day that I met him) I married the man I love more than life, February 15th 2008 (2 years, to the day, that we met)!
